This hand carved oak chair dates to the early 1900s. It features an oblong caned back with a scroll frame within twist-turned uprights above scroll-ended arms. Twist-turned supports hold a caned seat. Blocked frame base with a double-scrolled front stretcher on bowed rockers.
Chair design is inspired by English or Low Country designs of the late 17th century. The rockers may have been added at a later date. Family heirloom since at least 1941.
Chair height is 41", len...gth is 24" and the depth is 17.5". Very good condition.
