Here we have a colourful and rare 78-key keyboard removed from a vintage photo typesetting machine terminal.
This was made by MICRO SWITCH, a division of Honeywell. The keyboard model is 78SD12-6. This uses the high quality linear, tactile SD series of hall-effect switches (4 pin) and are marked as 4B3B on the switch body when a keycap was removed. The keys caps are also double-shot construction, with 14x *triple-shot* key caps. Please see the photos I've tried to capture ...all of this.
There are also two plastic side supports that allow the keyboard to mount at an angle while standing on a flat surface shown in the last couple of photos, also included. There is a 20pin edge connector (2x10) on one end for interfacing to whatever you might work out. The on-board IC's are a bit of glue logic, and an AMI made IC marked SW20478K.
Date appears to be February 1979 if the 7906 label is anything to go by, the IC manufacturing dates also seem to tie in with this.
Great looking keyboard for display or hacking back to be made useable again!
Photos are of the actual items you will receive. Shipping is by Priority mail and will need to be signed for to avoid any trouble!
Yes I combine items to save on shipping cost. Yes I ship international, any difference in shipping price quoted from actual will be refunded - i cannot get accurate shipping quotes for heavy bulky items!
Any other questions let me know.
