Louis Amberg Teeny Weenies All Composition Dolls, 8” Tall
Item History & Price
These are two of the cutest dolls one could have. They are called Teeny Weenies, made by Louis Amberg in 1928. They are both marked on their backs with the words, PAT. APPL’D FOR LA. & S., a copyr...ight mark and the date, 1928. They are 91 years old!
They are each 8” tall, very well strung and can stand on their own albeit a little wobbly, due mostly to the uneven bottoms of their feet. I will include their doll stands. They have painted eyes and painted molded hair. The little girl’s eyes are brown and the boy’s are blue. Both of them have twist waists. They can get into some very cute positions with those waists.
The little boy is one of the few dolls that were created as real little boys, not just a girl doll dressed in boy’s clothes. They are both relatively hard to find especially in their very good condition. They have no cracks or crazing anywhere except for a tiny chunk on the back of both of their right arms.
He is dressed in a hand knit little boy’s onesie that I knit for him and a hat that I made out of felt. The little girl is dressed in an era appropriate dress with a onesie underneath. I don’t think it is original, I suspect someone did a wonderful job making this dress and onesie.
These are two excellent little dolls. Because they are Louis Amberg dolls, in very good condition, this makes them a real find.
The Teeny Weenies really want to go to a new home. They must go together, because they are twins and they love each other too much to be separated.
