Original Description:
Nice 18th Century silk embroidery depicting Jesus standing in a landscape and exhibiting stigmata to the hands and feet.  Appears to be holding a spade in his right hand.  I assume this is a reference to the resurrection.  Skillfully executed with hand painted face and hair.  Image measures 6.5" by 9".  Housed in beautiful early gilt frame with eglomise reverse painted glass surround.  Difficult to photograph with th...e reflections.  Retains good color.  Note some tearing to the silk background evident in the photographs.  I believe this embroidery to be English; but could be American.
