This is a WHITE-WHITE Bedspread (even though I had difficulty capturing WHITE on camera)!There is NO damage, No wear, No stains, No rips, No tears, No holes.This is entirely in Perfect or EXCELLENT Condition!
Along the edge is a sizable Crown with 'BATES' in it, shown in a photo. The word 'Pat.' for Patent, and numbers are seen in front and following the Crown, but I couldn't figure out the year.
I think this matelasse bedspread is a Twin Size or Double Size. It is 81" x 83"....The design is a giant floral 'wreath' in the center, primarily daisy flowers I think, and then there is a wide border of flowers in a square box shape around the wreath.
This estate Matelasse, Antique or Vintage, has obviously been treasured and cared for for a long time. It is found Clean and 'crisp' and I have not laundered it, but leave that for you.
