#1) Ultra Rare Wrapped Steel Strands of vintage Suspension Cable from the Golden Gate Bridge with original paint, installed in 1936 and removed in 1976 to be replaced, measuring approximately 8 x 4 inches. In 1976 a private company bought a huge piece of retired cable from the state of CA and then had to ...cut it.....cutting the strands required an expensive titanium blade which was only good for 50 cuts. These artifacts were sold as souvenirs, The exact number cut and sold is unknown, ultimately the company went out of business. The whereabouts of the remaining cable is unknown? Attached is an official medallion that is stamped 1261 on the back, I believe out of 2000K?
#2) Framed Photograph of San Francisco Police officer with bridge inspector, and Buick? looks like the road was still being poured. Stunning street lights. This is a newer print that has been meticulously restored from a faded cracked dark original. Black and white Glossy, comes framed as pictured, measures 8x10 inches .
#3) Framed Photograph of Opening Day of the Golden Gate Bridge, when pedestrians were permitted to walk across the bridge without cars. This is a newer print that has been meticulously restored from a faded cracked dark original. Black and white Glossy, comes framed as pictured, measures 8x10 inches .
#4) Framed original letter/ invoice from the company that made the cable you are buying. The John A. Roebling Co. located in New Jersey but later had offices in CA. This letter was dated May 28th, 1900 way before construction started on the Golden Gate. If you Google "Who made the cable for the Golden Gate Bridge" you will see....."The well-known engineering company of John Roebling and Sons oversaw the cable construction. Roebling had built many of the world's longest bridges -- including the Brooklyn Bridge"
#5) Photo copies of the original documents that came with the cable strands...Certificate of Authenticity + Cable Specifications + Story of the cables "Strands of History"
