This rare and wonderful, onsite "Program" from Buffalo Bill’s Traveling Extravaganza measures approx. 7 3/4” by 9” and contains 32 pages plus the front and rear chromolithograph covers. T...he Program includes extensive text and illustrations relating to the show, its’ history, Buffalo Bill’s past as the Chief of the U. S. Army Scouts, the American West, Indian Fighting, Cowboys and many other aspects of the performers and the show.
It is titled on the cover "Buffalo Bill’s Wild West” and is copyright 1907 by the publisher – The Curier Company of Buffalo, New York. In 1907 there were at least three versions of the “Buffalo Bill’s Wild West” Show Program. The two more common version was shaped like a typical Circus / Wild West Show Program. The exceptionally rare version offered here is shape / die cut. Over the past 41+ years we have owned a number of the more common Programs from the 1907 Season but have never handled a single example of this rare, Die Cut version!!
The Program offered here was issued for and sold at performances of the Show at Baltimore on May 20 and 21, 1907.
The front cover of the Program is chromolithographed and features conjoined, bust portraits of William F. “Buffalo Bill” Cody and Sioux Chief Iron Tail. The entire Program is die cut / shape cut to conform to the contours of Iron Tail’s face. The rear cover is also chromolithographed and features an image of a Cowboy performer riding a bucking broncho.
Besides the numerous photographic and artistic images and text contained in the Booklet but there is no advertising identifying this as a Show Grounds Souvenir Program and not an Advance Courrier.
This very rare and fascinating, 1907 Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show Grounds Program / Souvenir Booklet is printed on a rather delicate paper stock and bound in its original, chromolithographed paper wrappers which are in very good condition – intact and sound but with edge wear and some short edge tears that were repaired a very long time ago with tape in the reverse. The interior pages are also in very good condition - complete and tight - generally clean but with some edge wear and soiling and a few scattered edge tears that were also repaired a very long time ago qith tape.
An exceptionally rare and wonderful, Shape Cut / Die cut 1907 Show Program / Souvenir Booklet from “Buffalo Bill’s Wild West” and a fantastic addition to any collection!!Overseas shipping is extra and cost will be quoted at bidders request. Massachusetts residents must add 6.25% sales tax. Please check out other early and interesting items offered by this seller on ebay. Important Notes about Shipping Charges and the eBay "Detailed Seller Rating" Star System: The amount quoted for Shipping & Handling is calculated by eBay and is equal to the EXACT amount charged by the Post Office plus a $1.00 "packing fee" - the $1.00 fee is our only compensation for the virgin packing materials we use on all of our professionally packaged boxes as well as our cost for the salaried help that does most of our packing - as I am sure you can see, we make NO profit on the Shipping charges and, in fact, our costs are usually greater than the $1.00 fee.
