1847 George Washington Silk Ribbon Laying the Cornerstone Washington Monument This auction is for a 1847 silk ribbon for George Washington's Laying of the Cornerstone of the Washington Monument. It measures 6 1/2" tall and 2 5/8" wide and is dated Oct. 19th, 1847. Other than a little fraying on the top and bottom of the ribbon, I would say that it is in very good condit...ion for its age. There are no holes or tears. Pictures are part of the description. Please see our other auctions for more of these old ribbons as we love to combine shipping.
