James K. Polk 1844 Presidential Election Victory Broadside Vs Henry Clay. Measuring 13 X 19” this is an original political broadside dated Monday November 4, 1844, 10 o’clock PM. This was an extra put out by the Harrisburg PA newspaper “Democratic Union”. “The Keystone Secures the Arch!- Polk and Dallas Nobly Triumphant!” even has the Whig song line printed on it “Ha! Ha! Ha! Such a Nominee, as Jimmy Polk of Tennessee!” Great graphics of an eagle at the top. There are ...a couple small non political articles printed on it, one being about the sad case of the Cherokees getting sick and dying in large numbers. Has some folds, a water stain on each of the 4 sections as this must have happened long ago when it was folded. Some edge wear/ small tears/ spots as you can see. Is still in pretty good shape. Great political broadside from the election 176 years ago! Free shipping
