1907 Brass Shell Casing Vase From Dirk Van Erp Mare Island Navel Yard Period. Dirk Van Erp worked at the Mare Island Naval Yard from 1900-1908. He started creating vases from the brass shell casings and selling them to shops in the Bay Area around 1907. This casing maker is Washington Naval Yard (WNY) which is one of the three manufacturers of casing that Van Erp is known to have used for his art.
