You may be bidding on this beautiful piece of original Folk Art that in all likelihood was created in Mexico or Central America. This came out of estate in which many Mexican and Latin American artifacts were sold. This unique piece was made of carved wood, meticulously painted and assembled into a carousel that features 6 different animals and 6 male riders. It stands 19 inches in height.It was meant to be a decorative item and not meant to turn. Because it was hand crafted, and possi...bly made with primitive tools, this carousel is a bit off in it's dimensions and a bit out of plumb and level. The cap isn't a perfect round. You may need a shim or two to level it up. There is various cracks and a lot of the green paint is loose. The cap comes off and could be superglued if you were not going to move it. The base, center shaft and riders can be detached, which will make it easier to ship. I will do my best to ship this delicate item so no damage occurs in transit. It is quite an amazing piece of art.
