Hi, I did a little research and it turns out these aren't medals but copies of medals people had made to display the real medal which would stay safe & protected in storage. Back in the day, apparently this was a very common practice to show off the medals people won and they would even have multiples made and using the pins, they would put them through things. Just thought you like that information. They are not trial die medals, they are copies for display purposes. Yours are very nice & interesting conversation & collection pieces.

This is a very collectible piece of British history, as we know the coronation of 1937 didn't ever take place, as Edward VIII abdicated in favour of his brother King George VI when it became obvious that he couldn't marry his American divorcee lover Wallis Simpson and still be King! I have just purchased lots of both AUSTRALIAN & WORLD Medallions and Medals so if you want to see them please Visit My eBay Store and click on the MEDALLIONS link.
