THE Case A Rare Clamshell JUMBO, Oh its a big case... 38mm excluding crown 40mm including crown & pushers43mm lug tip to lug tip, 20mm lug spacing... Its a big case that can hold its own... in a world of now (oftern needlesly) oversised watches nut this one does so with a good reason! as it houses the legendary Valjoux 22 Manual wind chronograph (but we will get to that in a minute)

THE MovementThe Outstanding Valjoux 22 a true backbone of the Swiss industry during the late 40s and early to mid 60s appearing in anything From HEUER's to Zodiacs Vacheron Constantine and everything between
First introduced in 1914 and continued production till the mid 70s The Valjoux 22 is widely regarded as amongst some of the finest chronograph movements ever produced
The name ‘Valjoux’ comes from the mountainous region in Switzerland called ‘Valley de Joux’ made famous for stopwatch and chronograph movements.
Watchmaking began in the Valley, when farmers would make clocks and watches on their farm tables in the bleak winters (When it was too cold to venture outside!).
Being a handwound movement, once fully wound the 22 will retain power for 45 hours. As it’s not automatic, there’s no rotor.
The Valjoux 7733 operates at a slightly slower VBH (Vibrations per hour) than modern automatic movements. This means the ‘ticka ticka’ sound is pleasing and reminiscent with vintage watches and past times.
