Original Description:
Super neat 18th century hand forged iron boot scraper. It has a thick curl decoration to the front and a long spike to the back. Given the shape and form of this piece with the step down flat part of the bar, I believe it to be a boot scraper that could be driven into the porch wall near the floor.... but please use your own judgment as to its original use. It is well forged with quality blacksmith work. It measures 21 inches total long, 8 inches wide up and down, and the spike itself ...measures 10 inches. It appears to have a great old honest patina, and is quite unique and unusual.
