You are bidding on an antique unidentified US sword most likely a fraternal organization sword. Complete lack of markings and inscriptions. The sword is in good condition, well made but is not a combat sword rather ceremonial or office of sorts. The construction indicated a late 19th century dating the sword has tang pinned on the pommel, brass fittings and leather wrapped grip. The sword is 34 inches from which the blade is 28 inches. There is an unusual 9 pointed star on the scabbard and a bird that seems to be a pigeon. The interlocking 9-pointed star symbol can be found on the apron of the Grand Secretary of Texas. This is the same symbol found on the jewel of the 33 Degree of the Scottish Rite. It is also used on the symbol of the Royal Order of Scotland.
