A beautifully crafted 1881 Gorham sterling silver parcel gilt teakettle on its original, hallmarked stand.
Gently tapering ovoid form, with applied gold interwoven leaf and vine rim and base.Hand carved leaf and floral garland suspended from leafy vine, all with gold wash accents.Alternating with gilt panel with acanthus mount.The kettle body with different shades of satin ba...ckground, which further enhances the visual appeal.
Cover with original Japanese Meiji inspired royal chrysanthemum bud and globe finial.Gold scrolling bell flower decorated overhead swing handle and gold collar andbell flower spout.The matching, hallmarked parcel gilt maiden head, shell support and streaming flower
decorated stand, itself atop compressed bun feet.
Never monogrammed.
