A Large and Fine Vintage Chinese Silk and Gold Thread Embroidery
A lovely large, silk panel depicting a pair of apposing sinuous dragons and a central flaming pearl motif.
Skilfully rendered in finely-worked gold thread throughout.
The dragons have long, sinuous bodies, are five-clawed and have coloured detailing to the eyes and mouthes.
The scales and flaming pearly are particularly well done, tightly woven and with good detail.
The piece is not in perfe...ct condition (see below) but still displays very well and is highly attractive.
A great piece for the vintage Chinese silk / textile collector.

This piece is LARGE (see wine bottle for scale): approximately 36 x 133 cms (including the rope border).
Condition:
Please view all photos very carefully. There is an area of fraying silk to each corner. One corner has been stitched and repaired so that it does not get any worse. The main decorative field is good, without any holes or rips. The gold thread of the dragons, cloud and flaming pearl is generally excellent, with no loose gold thread. There is some minor marking / staining in places but not too significant, all as shown. Once again, please view ALL photos carefully before purchase. Thank you.
