Vintage Modern Toys made in Japan tin tractor with farmer and original box, the box shows wear from being old. The tractor works with 2 - D size batteries! We were amazed that it worked after being in a closet for 50 years. There is a lever on the side of the tractor that allows the tractor to go forward, stop, or reverse.
The toy was played with, but lightly as you can see from the photos (my husband remembers playing with this as a child). It is in very good shape for it's age and... would be a nice piece for your collection.
The cable is what directs the tractor, as you press the top of the control, it turns the front wheels to the right or left.
Tractor is approximately 8 inches long, 4 3/4 inches at the widest rear tires, and 4 1/2 inches tall.
