This fabulous 221 will allow you to savor the luxury of this true Singer sewing machine standard and offer a rare opportunity to own a Featherweight from the first batch ever produced by Singer in 1933. Made in Elizabeth Port, NJ. Serial Number: AD 548775, an original lot of only 10K, dates this Grand Old Lady of 86 years to October 3, 1933. Singer's first... production run of ten thousand Featherweights were numbered 541546 to 551545.g
Desk Dave's Featherweight Factory has preserved this beautiful Featherweight's original paintwork and decals with a fine urethane hand rubbed finish to enable ongoing sewing and quilting usage for many years to come without fear of the original superb paint and decals deteriorating. Our detailed photographs show the well preserved original paintwork with very few usage marks and will also show the slight wear to the front edge of the original decals. Please note the underside of this Featherweight is in its immaculate original condition with no signs whatsoever of usage or repair. The only new additions we have made to this fabulous machine is fitting a brand new motor belt, new oil and lubrication. It has been fully serviced to the highest of sewing standards and runs quietly, smoothly and strongly with all available perfect stitching capabilities. To include Desk Dave's valuable Three Year Warranty on all moving parts.
This fine ensemble includes the original Carrying Case, preserved in excellent solid condition as per photographs. Latches, locks and hinges work perfectly and overall, only very slight wear and tear is visible. Please note that the leather handle does show some cosmetic deterioration near the D-rings, however, the handle remains firm, solid and very functional. Also included is its original Metal Foot Controller, an original Manual of the period and an original Bobbin Case, plus many other original Singer Accessories.
