A very large and impressive example of an original 18th century Fijian 'Waka' rootstock war club, inlaid around the head and having approx. 30-40 kill notches.
A real monster of a war club!
One of the finest examples I have seen and handled.
The club has a very rich / dark red patina. Weighs approx. 2kg.
The rootstock would have once belonged to a very high status warrior and would have beared witnessed to many evil deeds.
Provenance: J.V.R Br...omage, Western Nigerian Politician, 1960's. Hence by Descent.
A worthy addition to any serious War club or Fijian collection.
Overall length approx. 45 inches.
