America Boy "Electric Speed Boat with Robot Pilot"
We have a killer toy found in an attic with absolutely no history. It is branded American Boy and is likely a sub-brand of a famous maker like Marx or Girrard. It uses an electric motor with room for four c cells on end under the front cover. The back cover has a very complex set of gears/cam. Size is quite large at over approximately 21" in length as shown. The beam is wider than most to...ys. It comes with a stand for display. The wiring is fragile with some insulation coming off. We did not test it for fear of shorting it out. There is no rudder present. The toy is very dusty as found but will clean up well. Below the waterline the red paint is chipping and in bad condition as shown. It will keep flaking and likely needs a repaint or clear coating to preserve it. The hull reminds us of a thick Marx type pressing of steel. This beauty was found in St. Petersburg, FL and potentially is a trial of early electronics engineering. Honeywell electronics is still in the area as are other military design companies. We have never seen another one like this before and are sure we most likely won't again.
