Here is a classic 1960s/1970s Steelcase Bassick steno industrial desk chair featuring an all steel frame with a mustard yellow vinyl top. Authentic and unaltered.Seat measures 18ʺW × 17ʺD and the height adjusts from 18" at the highest to 13 1/3" at the very lowest (low enough for a youth). Back rest height is adjustable as is tension for tilting the backrest. Rolls freely on swivel casters and seat swivels effortlessly. Usable as is, or could be recovered. An efficien...t design that is both very well built and comfortable. The patent dates the base mechanism to 1964, but the color of the fabric and the base design seem like 1970s. Maker is Steelcase -- in the same line as All Steel, Emeco, Cosco, Cole, Goodform, Remington Rand, Chromecraft, Shaw Walker, Sturgis and other makers.
