Omega Constellation 14777 1962 Vintage Jumbo 37mm With Omega Extract & Serviced
Item History & Price
This reference is one of the 3 'jumbo' constellation references (168.001, 14777 and 14395) that were only sold in the far east. These are 37mm without crown. Majority of constellations on ebay that sell are 35mm. At 37mm these are big and wear with great presence. As these were only sold to Asia for a few years there were very few made. As a result thes...e references are rare at best and very rare to be seen in this condition. This is a collector grade watch that is also very much a daily use watch.
Perfectly gorgeous sunburst dome dial with gold furniture and black onxy inserts to both markers and hands. The combination of the dial with the onxy is a very attractive combination. The dial is in great condition as most examples of this reference have degraded dials due to far east climate. The case is in good shape and possibly had a light polish by a previous owner but all facets are still visible. The case back medallion has lost none of its detail.
Swiss Time Services watch makers located in London, UK completed a full clean and movement service in Feb 2017. This cost £450 and all documentation is included in the sale. STS are a premium watch service/restoration company. Swiss Time Services began in 1993 and looks after current and vintage Omega watches. Photos of inside the case back and movement were taken before the watch was serviced.
I have an extract from the Omega museum records archive. This confirms this movement left the Omega factory in this watch reference on the production date of Feb. 1962 and was delivered to Japan. Cost for extract is £125
I have worn this watch with a genuine Omega strap with an Omega gold cap buckle by EK. The black strap sets off the onxy inserts and the gold case very well so these are included in the sale. The strap and buckle sell on ebay for ~£200
Total of £700 alone for service, extract, strap, buckle.
Please review pictures as they are part of the sale.
Watch is located in UK/Ireland so domestic shipping and insurance are included, International shipping is at buyers cost. Also, any associated import duties are at buyers cost.
