Antique 1800's APOTHECARY Blown Glass Jar with cork and tin Lid LABEL UNDER GLASS: "RESINA DAMMAR" Front paper label has been applied inside the jar so because it's under glass, it has been protected from rubbing and grabbing by the pharmacist. Incredibly despite once having contents inside, the paper label is in perfect condition! There are a few tiny places along the top of the label where air has gotten between the label and glass.This very large, blown glass jar is heavy... from the thickness of the glass and features a rough broken pontil base that's been semi-polished in the middle. Decorative tin lid is in amazing condition without any loss of paint or gold trim. I especially love the natural imperfections on display from the production process--the few air bubbles on the sides, the uneven glass thickness of the bottom and the not quite circular mouth opening; all beautiful characteristics of its age! The cork fits tight in the mouth of the bottle, and I was hesitant to use much force to try and remove it for fear of breaking the cork. This bottle is sold individually, but I have a second larger bottle with a matching label if you're interested in acquiring the pair (see pictures).
