There is many very fine and rare examples of Sterling, Old Sheffield Plate and Silver Plate as well as fine Porcelains and Art Glass. ...Something for everyone this week !
Over the past 20 years Joanies has hosted Hundreds of estate auctions, auctioning upwards of one hundred thousand fine estate items during this time. Up for Auction is a RAREc1910 LARGE GORHAM ART NOUVEAU DECO STERLING SILVER OVERLAY GREEN GLASS VASE Part of a very fine collection of Silver Overlay Glass listed this week, be sure to check our other auctions and save greatly with combined shipping.
This is a very beautiful and very large c1910 Signed Gorham Sterling Silver Overlay Glass Vase. The Vase features superb quality thick Sterling Silver Overlay Flower designs which have both the feel of Art Nouveau and early Art Deco, sort of the perfect blend of the two periods and dating to the transitional period. The Vase is a rich deep Emerald Green and the Sterling Overlay is finely etched throughout, much nicer than my photos show. Fully signed Gorham with design numbers. Not marked Sterling as the Gorham mark was such a sign of quality that anyone would know it is Sterling.
Condition : The Vase is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. There is some residue to the lower portion but this there is most likely a way to remove it, we just prefer not to mess with items too much, prefering to leave it up to the new owner, how much they want to clean it or leave it as found.
