Lovely quality original 109 year old silver example, (definitely not a modern re-production), with a fine sterling silver mounted cover decorated with beautiful embossed cherubs/angels and clouds and with an attractive stylized Art Nouveau border. Complete with its original soft burgundy leather binding and inside it has 701 pages and includes its title page. No engraved initials or monograms, has a nice period hand-written dedication.Measurements Measures approx. 2.25 inches (56mm) x 1.9 inches (48mm) x 0.7 inches (118mm) deep.Date English antique solid sterling silver with a full set of English silver hallmarks for Birmingham 1912, (date letter "n"). Excellent clear struck marks.Maker Silversmiths initials "B P DC", (Boots Pure Drugs Company - 1900 - 1917).
Condition Good condition, with no splits or repairs, definitely no wear holes to the silver mounted front and no nasty knocks or dents, just has little shallow age-related surface dents/bruises from normal use, honestly nothing at all bad. The beautiful embossed cherubs/angels still have excellent detail and the soft burgundy leather binding is original and in great condition with no spine tears. Inside the pages appear complete and includes the title page. No engraved monograms, has a nice period hand written dedication.
