Vintage Hollywood Regency Revolv-A-Lite Table Lamp Designer 1920's!! Condition is "Used"......This lamp is in great shape! It shows obvious signs of use. Some rub marks from using the barrel to turn on/off. The shade has some subtle “dents”? Or unevenness, but to tears or holes, and that's amazing!! The felt on the bottom wes removed to redo a wire maybe? However the electrical cord is original.
I cleaned... this lamp just to get dust off. I'm leaving the spiffing up to you. As well as evening out the shade. You can make this beauty shine! (I did put a piece of brown felt on the bottom of the lamp.)
The Revolv-a-Lite name refers to how the lamp is switched on and off – not by a knob under the shade, but by the black barrel you twist in the middle of the lamp. It was a slick feature that adds to the glamor.
Hollywood Regency is a mid-century style that was meant to appeal to people who wanted a glamorous lifestyle, just like Hollywood actors. While the style supposedly started in the 1930s and continued well into the 1950s. Often there are touches of gold and graceful curves in Hollywood Regency pieces.
