Lovely quality original 113 year old silver example, (definitely not a modern re-production), a larger size than usually found with a fine sterling silver mounted cover decorated with beautiful embossed cherubs/angels and clouds. Complete with its original soft black leather binding and inside it has 450 pages and includes its title page. No engraved initials or monograms, has period hand-written dedications.Measurements Measures approx. 3.8 inches (97mm) x 2.4 inches (60mm) x 0.8 inches (19mm) deep.Date English antique Edwardian solid sterling silver with a full set of English silver hallmarks for Birmingham 1908, (date letter "i"). Excellent clear struck marks.Maker Silversmiths initials "L & S", (Levi & Salaman - 1895 - 1910).
Condition Good condition, with no repairs or wear holes to the silver mounted front and no nasty knocks or dents, just has little shallow age-related surface dents/bruises from normal use, honestly nothing at all bad. The beautiful embossed cherubs/angels still have excellent detail and the black leather binding is original and in great condition with no spine tears. Inside the pages appear complete and includes the title page. No engraved monograms, has a nice period hand written dedication.
