STUNNING And VERY RARE Hardy LRH No 3 Split Cane Spinning Rod. 9. 5ft (260cm)
Item History & Price
There were 4 different LRH spinning rods numbers 0, 1, 2 & 3.
The number 1 and 2 are the more common LRH spinning rod but the number 3 is THE rod for heavy salmon, sea trout, chubb and pike fishing. The 0 was a light spinning rod for trout.
This rod is indistinguishabIe from new with a clean handle and made from Tonkin split cane weighing 12.875 ozs (0.365kgs) both sections are straig...ht.
The rod was made for a short period between 1948 & 1952 and targeted heavier salmon, sea trout, carp and pike.
The butt ring is reinforced with copper wire to the lower leg as is the ferrule to prevent them breaking away with a heavy fish.
There are agatipe lined rings after the butt ring and the two sections have a push button fixing to endure the sections do not separate see photo 12. Comes with a Corbett agatipe end ring, the whippings are green with red tips.
Slim cork handle of 0.75" (34mm) dia for easier grip by 29" (73.7cm) length with Hardy patented "onion" end
Really nice rod that will not disappoint.
I do combine postage on multiple purchases and an additional rod is free postage if shipped with this rod.
