Scarce Penny Toy Dog by J. Distler of Germany
This googly-eyed penny toy pug by Distler is one of the more difficult ones to find in the animal series. It is the earlier issue, with the large spoked wheels, as opposed to the smaller, painted solid wheels that tends to show up more often.
The toy is 100% original, including the tapered coil sprin...g tail and its condition is by far the best I've seen. "Made in Germany" is embossed on the side of the base. The toy is pictured on pg. 21 in David Pressland's definitive book on penny toys.
