Offered for sale is a working example of the "Ham 'n Sam" tin litho wind-up toy, made by Linemar c.1950's. The piece measures about 6 1/2" tall x 5 1/2" across and is in excellent condition: the colors and the detail are very strong, and the mechanism works as it should. To operate, wind the key, depress the start-stop lever under the piano keyboard, and the piano player rocks back and forth as his hands skim over the keys while the dancer next to him dances in a circle... with legs and arms waving up and down. There is sheet music on the front of the piano, below which is marked "Linemar- Jazz." On one side of the piano is printed "Solid Jackson Yes yes, " on the other side, "Solid jackson No no, " and on the back is this legend: "Solid Jackson Beat me Daddy- Eight to the Bar Stay off my feet Boy Reel gone Music sends me Harry's got nothing on me New Orleans Beat Yes yes Please don't applaud - just yell Don't stop now" There is some very slight play wear, but the piece would still be rated as excellent plus. Hard to find this toy, especially in this condition, so don't let the opportunity to own it pass you by. Please check the photos as they are intended to supplement and add to the description and they provide the best evidence as to condition.
