Rare and original, circa 1920 “Tip-Top” Wind-Up Tin Lithograph African American Porter Toy manufactured by The Ferdinand Strauss Corp. of New York City. This early 20th century, Tin Lithograph Wind-Up Black Americana Toy measures approx. 5 1/2" tall (to the top of the Porter’s head) and 5 1/2" long overall.The Toy features an African American Railroad Station Porter pushing a cart that would hold luggage. There is a large decal on the front of the cart that reads “Tip-Top | T...rademark" and “Ferdinand Strauss Inc. / New York, U.S.A."Missing most of the mechanism from underneath, left arm and cap brim (as far as I can tell). Still displays nice from the right side.
