Antique 19th Century Cast Brass Figural Owl Taper/Spill Holder w Blue Glass EyesThis cast brass spill or taper holder is estimated to have been made around the middle of 19th century; say the 1840s through 1860s. It is expertly modelled and cast with great detail to represent a wise owl. The holder was cast in two pieces and riveted together. The front is the owl; the rear is a “bucket” to hold tapers or spills.
