This item is one of a collection of five calling card cases donated to the charity. It has been examined by a local jeweller’s shop and has been identified as of Asian origin and is silver gilt. There is no maker’s mark or hallmark, but it was dated as being made between 1850 and 1900. The piece is in very good condition with no signs of damage. The other four cases are on eBay at the moment.
