This is an original antique console wall shelf, probably for use with a pier mirror. It was found with the pier mirror listed at the link below, but the shelf is made of walnut (the mirror is oak) and I don't believe they were meant to be together:

The shelf is in excellent condition and is sturdy, solid, and fully functional. All joints are tight, nothing is loose. The finish looks very good with little obvious wear, but there is some du...sty residue in some areas. There appears to be a repair; an extra strip of wood added between the side and the wall panel, shown close-up in photo 11, and a crack near the back of the carved scroll side, shown in photo 12. The crack is only cosmetic and does not go through. The marble top is mainly white with gray veins and is very heavy. There are two newer metal hangers on the back for wall mounting.
The shelf measures 28" L x 18 1/2" H x 11" deep. The marble top is not attached and easily lifts off. Both pieces will be packed securely in a heavy duty double walled box and fully insured during shipping.
