Thispostage stamp quilt measures approximately 78”long x 74” wide. There are about 55 squares in onerowlength and 49 squares in onerow width.Thatis approximately 2, 695 squares which are hand-stitched with machinestitching on top. That is a work of love! Each square measures about 1 3/8”. The quilt dates around 1860 –1880. It has been loved and used. The madder brown squares didn’tfair well. They have deteriorateddue to the mordantprocess.Thebacking is a pretty beige with cin...namon pink flowers. The edge ofthe quilt has a couple of torn places which seems to be due totucking in. Photos11 and 12 shows the largest spots. This piece is from my collection. It is time to pass it on tosomeone else to love and cherish. This quilt isover 100 years old, and it's possible I haven't found all of itslittle imperfections. I have tried to describe it to you honestly, but if you have any questions, please email me.
