From a recent consignment auction in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. Chambersburg was the next stop as the original Atlantic and Ohio telegraph line was pushed west from Harrisburg in 1846. It likely had a telegraph office in operation there until the technology was abandoned in 2006.
The serial number indicates that this key dates from 1924.
