This is a vintage General Electric Power Call / Siren. The model number is 4EA22B12 and was produced to be compatible with both the MASTR-II and MASTR PRO series of radios produced from the mid 1960's through the late 1980's.
It has Manual, Wail, Warble and Steady siren settings as well as PA and Radio Rebroadcast. This siren has been bench tested and all siren functions work properly. P...ushing the illuminated rectangular button in the center activates the manual siren function. The PA and radio functions have not been tested.
The siren can operate on 12V or 28V DC. It is currently configured for 12VDC, internal wiring changes are required for 28V. The output power varies from 55W to 100W depending on the voltage and number of speakers (see specificatios in the photos). The pictured maintenance manual is for specification reference only and is not included with the auction. We can supply a photocopy to the winning bidder if desired.
The siren is in fair condition cosmetically. It is scratched up from many years of service and the manual control button is cracked but still lights up and works. The function select knob is incorrect for this siren, it should be tan, not gray.
The auction includes only the pictured siren. We do not have the mounting bracket, DC power cable or microphone. Power was supplied through clip leads for the test photos shown but a correct power cable is needed. The original power connectors were not very reliable but an alternate power connector can be added relatively easily by a radio shop.
