Vintage Hallmarked Ola Gorie Sterling Silver-TREE OF LIFE-DOVES-IVY-Art Nouveau. Condition is Excellent-This Lovely piece-‘The Tree of Life’, is A real Work of Art. A lot of Hours went into making this piece. Although a number would have been made. Each one is Unique, as A lot of Hand Crafting & Finishing. At first Glance, the Brooch looks , Geometrically Mirrored. If you look at the Two ‘Peace’ Doves. They are facing each other. However, the wing on the Left Hand Side, is Curl...ed up. Whilst the other, is Straight down. All Motifs on Jewellery have a ‘Language’ of their own. The Ivy , for Instance. Oft Favoured by the Victorians, means, “Everlasting Love & Marriage “ . The ‘Mizpah’ Brooch, being the most well known. So we Have ‘Ivy’-Doves for “Peace & Hapiness”. Chrysanthemums, for “Love”-Fruits, For Prosperity. Etc. So this ‘Tree of Life’ Sterling Silver’ Ola Gorie Piece. Has Secret messages in its Symbolisms. Maybe I’m being a Little Romantic & using a Little Poetic Licence. But , it Doesn’t take away from , the Fun & thoughtfulness of this Piece . The Hallmarked back. Is very much there. Due to the ‘Textured’ Back-A little difficult to read. Under high Magnification Loupe. It is ‘OMG’ The thistle, for ‘SCOTTISH SILVER’, EDINBURGH CASTLE, For the Assay Office & a Simple Date Letter ‘S’ for c1992 . So nearly 29 years Vintage. A Very interesting, Beautiful, with hidden Meanings. This Unique Gem, would make a Fantastic Gift, to yourself, or & Someone Special. It measures 1.3/8”(35mm) Wide , at the Top-x-1.1/4”(31mm) High-& Weighs In At a Healthy 7 grams. It has a Sturdy, Safety lock Pin on the Reverse.
