"THE ROYAL GEOGRAPHICAL SOCIETY SILVER MAP"
Made of sterling silver, stamped 925/1000, with gold-colored highlights - vintage limited edition by The Royal Geographical Society. Quite rare, especially here in the United States. I received this years ago from a family member who lives in Europe, and now it is time to send it on to another collector.

Overall condition is solid, although there are some points of aging and some general wear which I will detail in the points below:
- As you can see in the photos, there is some moderate damage/scraped areas near the edges of the wooden frame. These could easily be touched up by the buyer, but I wanted to leave it as-is for this sale so you (the buyer) could do as you please after receiving this.
- Underneath the glass, on the surface of the plate/print, there are many areas of small scratching, likely due to this being jostled around over a few moves before I received it.--->You can see what I'm talking about pretty clearly in the photos, although it is worth noting that this wear is on the inside surface of the glass as well as the surface of the print so it may look worse in the photos than it is in reality.
- Screwed-on back panel of frame is slightly uneven near one corner. I suspect this is due to the silver plate-print itself being a couple mm too large for how the inner dimensions of the frame are made, but it is not super noticeable from the back, and not noticeable at all when hung.
- Hanging cable and fasteners in top condition, very secure!
- Front surface of the glass has light surface wear in a few spots but nothing severe.
Overall, this is not a mint/perfect example of this rare piece, but it presents quite well when hung up on the wall.
Starting this auction low for this unique piece of decor.
Will be packed with exceptional care, wrapped in bubble wrap and double boxed with packing peanuts in between sealed boxes.
