Fantastic one of a kind Plains Ojibwe Bandolier Bag 1906. This bag was part of an East Coast collection and the story that was handed down about the bag is the Date May 24th 1906 was the day a Native American young man was admitted to West Point Military Academy. The floral designs on the bag are artfully arranged in beautiful color selections with a nice balance of object and space. There are also two birds on the shoulder strap. This large bag is 17" wide and 50" lo...ng and is in excellent condition for its age. PlainsOjibwe. I like the "otter trail" motif in crystal beads aroundthe border. Most people call it "otter tail" /"ottertail", for it resembles the trail that an otter can leave as itruns in the snow-- hop, hop, slide..., hop, hop, slide. note from Bensen Langford beadwork expert.39071
