1964 Navajo Hand Woven Moth Wool Rug 66 " By 33 1/2 " Red Black Gray Cream
Item History & Price
- This once lovely rug is terribly damaged from wool moth larvae chewing and eating. The gray color wool yarn was most damaged and attractive to the wool moth larvae. The black yarn was the second favorite for the larvae. My grandparents used this rug in a back bedroom in their mountain cabin where it didn't suffer from much human foot traffic. But the wool moth larvae really did a lot of damage. Zoom in on the photos to see the damage. I don't think it should be used in this condition as I think it would get torn up pretty easily. It most likely will be very expensive to hire a restoration weaver to make repairs. I hope someone out there can have some passion to preserve this better than our family did.Buyer pays $21.10 for large flat rate priority box mail.
