This Japanese wood kokeshi doll is from the 1970's, measures 5.75" high. She is wearing a brown kimono that is decorated with large flowers that were carved into the wood for added depth and texture. The artist painted the flower petals orange and the center of each flower red, then he carved leaves around each flower. She has a happy face with smiling lips, framed by her hair pulled up into a top knot. Please see below for flaws.
This kokeshi doll is ...in good vintage condition - hard to find many flaws - and would make a great addition to your growing collection. White areas are camera glare.
