Collectible Vintage Hand Painted Roses on White Ceramic & Glass Oil Lamp/Lantern. Estate item. Hand painted over transfer (see below). Globe is clear glass. Metal is tarnished brass. In working order with wick intact. No markings on bottom but resembles early Made in Japan ceramics. It is 7 inches tall and approximately 5 inches wide at widest including handle.HAND PAINTED TRANSFER:
Transfers or decals are applied and hand painted over so... that it sometimes becomes difficult to tell if it is hand painted or done by transfer process. The application of the transfer is also done by hand and in some cases is a very complex process.Excellent condition--no chips or cracks. We were not able to easily remove the lid, but can be used by pouring the oil in through the wick opening. Glass shade is intentionally rough and uneven at top. Clean and non-smoking.
