Beautiful Vintage Japanese Etching Under Glass."Farm House 27" is hand Signed in pencil by Artist Hiroto Norikane.This piece also bears the Artist's Red Stamp.This etching is numbered 33/100. In Original Wood Frame - Outer measures 8-1/2" x 8-1/2"
First shown in 1971, this lovely Art work was last displayed @ 1983 One-Man Shows, Kanda's Gallery B.O.Q. Tokyo, Japan and is in the original frame. The Artist inverted and used this subject in a l...ater work entitled Farm House 46 of which he produced 300 pieces. However, this earlier, original etching was limited to only 100 pieces.
Artist BiographyThe artist Hiroto Norikane was born 1949 in Hiroshima, Japan. Norikane graduated from the Sokei Academy of Fine Arts and Design where he studied under Yoshida Hodaka and Kato Kiyomi. The Artist works in a mixed media technique of etching and mezzotint. The motifs chosen for his art are taken from rural Japan and from the Japanese tradition.
Major art museums in Japan and The United States house his collections. His works are proudly displayed at: Portland Art Museum, Fine Arts Museum of San Francisco, Oregon City Museum and The White House.
ConditionThe artwork has remained sealed in it's original framing. The original wooden frame is circa 1971 and shows some wear. (Please examine photos provided) This listing comes from the estate of my late mother’s extensive collection. She was a lifelong collector and owned thousands of collectibles. Her items come from a smoke-free and pet-free home. Please understand that I am not an art expert! I am providing information to the best of my ability. I have noted any issues that I am aware of.
