Original Description:
This CDV is is inscribed on the reverse, in very light pencil, "I send you my photograph that you may seen how I look as a soldier.  A. Lamb.  Presented to [?] Nolen (Jany?] 9, 1864."  Lamb is holding his kepi (sideways) in his right hand, and the numeral "2" is clearly visible under magnification.  Photographer is J.E. Eldredge, Crescent City.The 2nd California Volunteers was organized in September 1861 in San Francisco and Crescent City.  "C" Company served a...t Ft. Colville, Washington Territory and at Fort Humbolt, California.  Lamb mustered in in September 1861 and served until September, 1864.
Condition: generally very good, there is a small rubbed area at three o'clock, just to the right of subject's left elbow.
