A Superb example of a very early British East India Company officer's button. Button has hand chased detailing and retains virtually all of its original gold finish. Button likely dates from 1810 to 1820 and has a backmark that reads " SMART . EXETER . CHANGE .*. ". A large button measuring 24.27mm. See photos for condition details.
