WW1 CEF Silver War Medal to Edward GIBSONE for service with 66th Canadian Infantry Battalion who was born in Jersey, Channel Islands and attested for service in Edmonton AB. on Aug. 9th 1915 at 26 years of age. A very scarce medal to 66th Battalion as the Battalion was absorbed into the 9th Reserve Battalion upon arriving in England and only those soldiers who reached England but were not absorbed into the 9th Reserve Battalion and sent to the... front retained the original 66-Can. Inf. on the medal. Impressed along edge: 101154 PTE. E. GIBSONE 66-CAN. INF. With correct WW1 ribbon. Medal is in excellent condition , a copy of his attestation paper as found on archives.ca/cef site included.
