Antique Americana - Roller Bearing Wood Spoke Metal Rimmed Child's Wagon -Rolls Nice! The Gentleman that donated this gorgeous piece of history is in his late 80's early 90's and recalls sitting on his parents driveway and just the wind would blow him down the driveway. With how smoothly these ball-bearing wheels roll, I have absolutely no doubt of this being truth. The wagon was given to his father by a man who used it to go door to door selling freshly ground horse radish. There ...are two holes in the floor of the wagon where a bracket once held the grinder. A third hole appears in the back vertical gate that may have been original to the piece. The wagon is in immaculate shape and the Gentleman that donated this piece was/is very meticulous with this items. The platform of the wagon is tongue and groove. All spokes are in excellent condition. One wheel has lost considerable yellow paint but no damaged wood spokes on any wheels. The bearings roll very freely. It appears the side rails are removable via wing nuts. It appears he has replaced the handle harness nuts and bolts connecting the handle to the metal yoke and the nuts and bolts that connect the yoke to the front axle. The front pivot turns very freely to the left and right. All wood is solid and metal rims are in fine condition. The wagon measures about 48 inches from back most part of rear rim to front most point of metal yoke connecting the handle in the upright orientation. Outside wheel to wheel measurements are 43-5/8 inches by 23 inches across full length of axle rod. The wagon box, itself, measures 40 inches by 17-1/4 inches with a full height, not including handle, of 17 inches floor to top edge of vertical rail. From floor to top of handle in leaning position is about 32 inches.
