NORMAN ROCKWELL FOUR FREEDOM WW2 LIKE NEW ORIGINAL!! POSTERS W/ ENVELOPE. Condition is "Used". Shipped with USPS First Class.
If you’re a WW2 or Norman Rockwell collector this is the “Freedoms” posters set you’ve been waiting for. This 100% original 28x20 poster set has been kept for over 80+ years folded in their original envelope they were shipped in.
I bought these a year ago from a local antiques dealer who bought them from the family of a Massac...husetts pharmacist. He received them from the War Department in 1943 but never took them out of the envelope.NO WATER STAINSNO LOSS OF COLORNO ADDITIONAL FOLDS OR CREASESNO TEARS NO PIN HOLESNEVER BEEN DISPLAYED IN A FRAME AND ARE IN THEIR ORIGINAL, FOLDED CONDITION THEY WERE SHIPPED FROM THE WAR DEPARTMENT IN 1943The colors and graphics are as bright as they were the day they shipped. In full disclosure, the “freedom of speech poster has an inside fold that’s split along its vertical line about 1 1/2”. There’s no losses and it’s now being supported with removal, archival tape and good as new (See photo - have to look close to see it and it doesn’t affect the front of the poster). No other poster has any fold issues and 100% in tact. For 80 + years of storage these are in remarkable condition. In addition to the posters, I’m including the original War Department envelope they came in. The top flap is missing but it’s a great little piece of history in itself as these were usually just tossed in the trash. It also has the typed address of the pharmacy there the posters were shipped for provenance.Actually the provenance is these posters is easy:1) US War Department2) Massachusetts pharmacy/pharmacist family (80 + years)3) Local Saratoga Springs, NY Antiques dealer4) Me (1 year)Norman Rockwell's Four Freedoms series was first published in The Saturday Evening Post in 1943 during the height of WW II. Each poster measues 20'' X 28'' and have the Office of War Information (OWI) information and respective number located at the bottom. #43 FREEDOM TO WORSHIP - February 27, 1943#44 FREEDOM OF SPEECH - February 20, 1943 #45 FREEDOM FROM WANT - March 6, 1943#46 FREEDOM FROM FEAR - March 13, 1943 Feel free to contact me if you have any questions. Normally shipped next business day. I hate to let them go but I don’t have the room to display them and they need to find a good home where they won’t just be stored away (I’ve keep these in dark cool storage to keep them as crisp as the day I bought them). Best of luck and wishing the best.
